drawing was always hard for me. it was so mystical how ppl could think in layers and bring their vision to life on a 2d surface. videos come more naturally. i can project a video in my head. at a certain point of ideation, i let loose the script on my keyboard. i get excited about experimenting w different shots, acting, and post. i enter a flow state much more easily than w coding. i need to get better at the technical aspects/understand videos better so that my vision gets translated in my work regardless of how short/long it may be. yesterday’s video could be broken down like so, across sat/sun: - 3-4hrs ideation - 1hr fucking around - 2hrs filming - 11-12hrs editing editing took a while cause i was using davinci for the first time. good chunk of time was prompting perplexity then trying out suggestions as well as playing w keyboard shortcuts. in the current phase, my main objectives are to play around w different videos and to ship one a day. but i realize how important it is to plan ahead. like for yesterday’s, i wish i would’ve come up w script earlier so that i could’ve planned out shots better. one of the worst feelings is being done w a shoot and wishing u had one more piece of footage. also, i need to buy a camera. idc about video quality so much as my phones memory/battery constantly takes a hit. +it’d be nice to have a camera i don’t take on/off tripod while filming

I really appreciate getting to see your thought process behind the video. And always fun to see experiments in style and script. It reminded me of The Rehearsal. That’s a lot of time editing. What are the capabilities on Davinci that makes you want to try it out (versus using a more basic editor)?
