I wake up in pain every day. Some thoughts on life, pain, and purpose. Pain is not new to me. I’m 25 and have lived with an autoimmune disease since I was 15. It has shaped me, challenged me, and taught me lessons I never asked to learn.

Life Life is not fair. Coming to terms with this was one of my biggest challenges. But life is also beautiful—amazing and fulfilling in ways that often catch us by surprise. Life is what you make of it. The obstacle is the way. Do not let anyone tell you how to live yours.

Pain Pain is humbling. It is annoying, de-motivating, motivating, and, at times, even inspiring. I constantly struggle to understand it. Pain is a reminder—a relentless one—of the things I need to do in life. Some days, like today, it is overwhelming. It gnaws at my will to keep going. When I feel this way, I try to write. It helps, even if only a little.

Purpose, Purpose is what keeps me going. It’s what turns pain into fuel, suffering into meaning. Without purpose, pain is just suffering. But with purpose, pain becomes a teacher, a compass, a force. I don’t believe purpose is something you find—it’s something you create. It’s in the work you do, the people you impact, the things you build. Purpose doesn’t have to be grand. It can be as simple as showing up for yourself each day, as small as writing something that helps one person feel less alone. On the worst days, when the pain is loud and life feels unfair, purpose is the whisper that says: keep going.
