If Base announces a token next month and an airdrop for all the users, 

1. Base will become a #1 L2.
2. Base will have the highest TVL in all the chains.
3. Base will kill Solana, SUI, and every other L1 it's competiting with. 
4. Base will make at least 100+ millionaires.


What else do you think will happen?

A bunch of people will be extremely happy. Do you think this is really happening? Or just a hypothetical?

I don’t either, because Jesse wants to coin everything.. but like not having a reason not to do something doesn’t seem enough, I feel like they should also have a reason to do something… right?

2 reasons to do it.

1. To cement their position as the most active consumer chain.

2. More money 

2.1 trading fees of $base token itself will be enough to justify it. 

2.2 creating a treasury will allow Base to operate independently (for a long time) without the mothership, giving it much more flexibility.
