A bit of early ordinals history.

Bitcoin Punks floor almost got to (never touched iirc) 0.1 BTC when BTC was around 27 to 30K USD

Today, BTC Punks floor is at 0.007 BTC (based screenshot)

This was an interesting ordinals collection because you didn't really have an efficient way to mint such a large number of inscriptions yourself without paying a lot of money, having those inscriptions not be sequential etc.

So BTC Punks were inscribed by individuals, some of them inscribed multiple times. The earliest inscription for each punk was recognized as part of the official collection.
