anime-manga 🍡

alright! 

i'll be kicking off the starter pack with some terms (kinda like Anime 101) so everyone can join the club. here's the quick lowdown:

- anime: you probably already know this. lol. these are japanese animated shows or movies. think epic stories, really good visuals, and feels that hit hard. popular examples like Naruto or Spirited Away (movie).

- manga: these are japanese comics or graphic novels. they are usually black-and-white and you read from right-to-left. most anime comes from manga. 

- manhua: these are comics like manga but chinese comics. it's often more colorful with dope art. 

- donghua: are chinese animated shows or films. really smooth animation, sometimes wuxia or fantasy flavors. (i just remembered the movie i was talking about. Legend of Hei. @retalien )

almost forgot. based on the genres mentioned, here's a quick top 5 shonen anime/manga you can jump on. 
these are highly popular, action-packed, and perfect to start with: 

- Demon Slayer: Tanjiro’s quest with jaw-dropping fights and feels. currently 2 seasons in with a movie finale coming out later this year. 

- My Hero Academia: superhero school with epic battles and heart.

- Naruto: ninja vibes, friendship, and crazy growth. amazing story too. but really long. also kinda slowpaced at the start. 

- Attack on Titan: intense survival against giants with wild twists. this one will have you questioning the motives and the plot. 

- Jujutsu Kaisen: curses, slick combat, and Yuji’s dope energy. this is another anime that would leave you confused but wanting more. lol.
