What car you’re working on? Say more things for petrolheads to swoon over.

It’s a 2005 Jetta TDI wagon with a manual. It was fun to drive when it had shit for power. I believe it was 90hp and it should be around >220hp, no idea yet on torque but plenty, especially with a light flywheel

Real talk those Jettas are sick. Friend has one (stick) that he won’t let go for the love of it. I always find the clutch waaaaaay deep on them, but it’s fun as hell. So strange to the feel. You find the same or no? What condition you got it in?

Yeah that previous clutch sucked, this new one should be decently stiff and much earlier. There was a ton of play in all the linkage. I replaced a few pieces in there that should really improve the feel. I got it at like 120k miles, I think? It’s been awhile now. I think it’s over 250k. It gets over 50mpg

Delicious. Any reason for that specific car? Just curious, don’t gotta share. If I ever did a build & fix, I reckon it would be Ford Mustang GT 1967. Not that I know wtf to do with it but that one is dear to my heart.

There’s definitely a ton of other cars I’d rather build than this but I do also love this shape. I want another 2000 Audi s4, that was my baby. I learned to drive in a 72 Datsun 240z and my dad sold it like an asshat, I’ve always wanted to build one of those

Ooof 72 Datsun. Never drove, but I dig it. I learned on random BMWs and Toyotas (not nice, just there). And a VW Golf from 1993. Owned a Buick Century Custom with incessant head gasket problems and leaky coolant. Learned some fixing on it. Its engine blue up (literally) on a date. Fun. We need a car channel here.
