I wish tech would just leave the CFPB alone. Even in this piece by my favorite and best crypto vc @nic (which funnily enough cites @leefang A TON) he notes  the CFPB is not the responsible party for crypto debanking, if we agree that exists. Common claims around that in crypto are wrong 

Where I break from nic is I think The fact that the agency can be ineffective does not mean we should give up on it and by extension its rules!

honestly kind of a fair point

hope that there are some consumer protections when it comes to crypto soon, at least to ease a little bit of the skepticism and mistrust of crypto

I feel like crypto/tech scapegoats the CFPB because they protect consumers and in turn hinders moneymaking. It surely cannot be the unaccountablity/undemocratic exercise of private power alone — for what is DOGE but that?
