I hope no one ever gives money to Alex Masmej ever again lol giving up on a project (with a token) after less than a week? I would be embarrassed if I were any of the funds that backed him [the irony of the 37 users meme here btw] https://x.com/CTAfun/status/1975827238533931474

eh, there is something to be said about sticking with an experiment for longer than a week but he's experimented and shipped more products in the past few years than most founders in the space. i know people who raised an angel or seed round back in 2021 or 2022 and still haven't shipped a product yet. that should be more embarrassing for a fund than someone who has shipped and iterated.

I just think it’s irresponsible to quit on an idea so quickly when you launched a token for it. Fine to pivot and iterate quickly but then maybe wait to launch a token until you’re confident in an idea?

Thanks Ted! Exactly right, having shipped many products I just knew this one wouldn’t stick straight away (creators wouldn’t tag the handle) Also there was such little traction (token peaked at $600K mcap), and we didn’t sell a single token yet, and we airdropped to everyone, like literally yes I can understand why it’s bad optics to close early but it’s also virtually inconsequential especially after our airdrops It’s actually funny most founders tell me in private I could have made so much more if I was less ethical, like 10K failed but we could have retained like $6M out of 8 on our main presale for example, same for Drakula we gave our $1M+ grant away without keeping anything Anyways, glad that I can be candid on Farcaster it’s nice to have these hard convos sometimes!
