We are embedded in structures that determine this The more we outsource value to the market (if it makes money, it must be good), the more self-interest becomes not just acceptable, but moral, because the only good is making money

nocebo effect, trained to find self-interest and selfishness in everything you see there are plenty of instances of the alternative that we choose not to focus on or give attention to

You are reframing my cast as a personal attitude problem, as if I’m just negatively focusing on selfishness rather than reflecting on how systems shape behavior It’s a fair emotions driven reply, but also a way of avoiding the actual thoughts im putting out here
