With mini apps, in-app wallets, efforts to reduce (and in most cases remove) signup costs for new users, and the upcoming rebrand of the canonical app from "Warpcast" to "Farcaster", there is a ton of potential for Farcaster to grow into the primary surface area for mainstream users to find real value in crypto applications.

depends after onboarding non-crypto people here and asking them their experience, i think a high degree of taste and care and intentionality need to go into the experience in order to appeal to mainstream users. i look to TYB as best-in-class consumer crypto app that appeals to 500k+ mainstream users, mostly women

"why am i getting trending token notifs" "some of the crypto stuff feels pretty trashy and casino-y" "at first i thought crypto people only talked about crypto but realized it takes a couple weeks for algo to catch on and show me that there is good non-crypto content." "why did i get $dickbutt sent to me?"

Maybe getting to know their interests the more while getting signed in would help fix this. And the algo can stick to their interest then, if they need something else the search section is another way for the algo to gradually pick up interests 🤷🏽‍♂️
