Okay, so there's a person on X who is constantly promoting Poland. I get it, Poland is great, it's an economic miracle that grows fast while other economies, like Germany, stagnate.

However, when you start to compare Poland to anything else other than a few anemic states, like Germany, really is a bit different. So I compared it to another post-soviet state, Russia. And here's a shocker, Russia grew it's GDP faster in the last 25 years, despite most of the world sanctioning it, with the US and Europe throwing sanctions for the last 11 years (from 2014). As of this moment, Russia is the most sanctioned county in the world with 24,000 sanctions, and while second most sanctioned country, Iran, only has 5000 sanctions. And despite waging a war for the last 3 years. Here's what the economic data says: Poland: Total GDP (PPP) grew by approximately 365.4% from 2000 to 2025, increasing from $453.24 billion to $2,109.58 billion. Russia: Total GDP (PPP) grew by approximately 424.4% from 2000 to 2025, increasing from $1,359.80 billion to $7,130.00 billion.

I don’t see any reason to downplay Poland’s rise. I’ve witnessed a hard-working culture there, coupled with creativity and a resilient mindset. As much as I love Russia, corruption and repression still hamper its expansion. Also GDP per capita goes up faster when capita go down..
