Should FarCon become a DAO? Security Council style board to decide where FarCon will be. Proposals to host FarCon should be transparent, with a public commenting period, ultimately letting a small trusted core to make the decision. Maybe also having smaller FarCons in smaller cities throughout the year?

to me, the bigger question (and rate limiting factor) is the number of people willing to put in the effort to host a FarCon or even willing to put in the effort to host a Farcaster meetup

not really sure how I feel about a DAO, if anything I think that extra layer of permanent organization is more confusing and hasn’t been necessary thus far while I’m all in favor of FarCons continuing to be by and for the community, I have a feeling the next one could be run by Merkle and I’ve accepted/am ok with that

Betteridge’s Law applies Hot take: Merkle should run the flagship event — the community narrative is nice and kumbaya but doesn’t purchase anything Not diminishing Ted or Emma’s efforts because they both crushed it, but the event needs to be a beacon for people outside of the industry to attend (like Solana Breakpoint)

i like the idea ya, should Purple DAO be that DAO? @luciano just run a ponder for farcon rome vs tokyo, community voted rome (53%), but i still need to wrap my head around it and understand the overall community sentiment

Not a DAO. Merkle needs to run Farcon Maybe a bit too early now, but in next ~2 years should be run by Merkle Too much brand equity for it to be community run, and as we saw with Farcon NYC, the community can exclude people for personal reasons
