Charmed life Definition: The phrase "charmed life" refers to a life protected as if by magic charms. It describes a person who is very lucky and is strangely unaffected by dangers and difficulties. The phrase was first used by Shakespeare in his play, Macbeth in 1605. "Thou losest labor. As easy mayst thou the intrenchant air With thy keen sword impress as make me bleed.
