It does feel strange the pro benefits seem to be focused on the 10k.

I subscribed just after 10k but apparently that makes me a 2nd class Pro or something.

Feels like a soft rug.

A late sleep made me a second class citizen🫠

Shower thought: Maybe we should also airdrop to Pro users beyond the first 10,000? as a way to reward their support and courage for subscribing even without an NFT. That might encourage more users to subscribe Pro in the future. 🤔

excited to see Farcaster experimenting with a "Pro protocol subscription" plan as a way to generate sustainable revenue. This has the potential to create a positive flywheel for the protocol.

We’ve seen Farcaster offer weekly rewards and occasional airdrops, which are great for community engagement. but we all know those incentives come at a cost. To sustain them long-term, there needs to be a solid foundation of income, whether that comes from Warplet transaction fees or a Pro plan like this.

Any attempt to create revenue streams is a positive step. It enables Farcaster to continue funding devs and casters who contribute to the eco, incentivizing them to build more engaging miniapps, launch new innovations, and create great content. This in turn improves the platform experience, attracts more users, and increases the likelihood that people will subscribe to Pro, engage with Warplet, and explore miniapps.

It’s could be a growth engine, a real flywheel. I’m optimistic about where this can go.

Farcaster Pro subscription and NFT update

1. The first 10,000 subscriptions that include NFTs are now sold out.

2. We will publish the canonical data set of the first 10,000 subscribers tomorrow as a CSV for data analysis. This will be onchain and in protocol in the next few weeks. At that point, pro subscriptions will be permissionless, i.e. not require the Farcaster app

3. We're going to send a notification in-app tomorrow with a subscriber #. If you number is between 1 and 10,000, you'll be eligible for the NFT.

4. There are no refunds. No exceptions. This includes people who sign up after 10,000 (and ignore the warning about NFTs being sold out).

5. The NFT will be airdropped soon. We've been working with @miguelgarest.eth on the limited edition NFT. The NFT will will be airdropped to your primary wallet.

The pro subscription is off to a great start. Airdropping an NFT to the first 10,000 users is a smart move, It doesn’t require excessive commitments, but the utility of the NFT could be organically developed by the community.

it’s highly conversational here, exactly what a “social network” should be - those who talk without responding to ppl and without taking interest in others find it difficult to connect bc this isn’t like other social where that is somewhat normalized

on the flipside those who take a genuine interest in others and give of their time to ppl here will most def have ppl do the same for them, basic human traits
