Trying to move back to western New York so my son can be closer to his grandparents. I got off the phone with the bank, their underwriter won't pre-approved us because my wife doesn't have a job in NY. I work from home, so my income counts but her income in Virginia doesn't count even if she stays in VA until she finds a job. Fuming.

Kicker we got ~20% down payment. And another 30% when we sell our current house. So we're just flummoxed.
