The current situation has nothing to do with immigration and everything to do with criminals avoiding accountability and upending the rule of law. If you think that senseless murder of civilians by U.S. law enforcement is "the pendulum swinging the other way" then the rest of us are waiting for the thing to swing back and hit you in the nuts. Ignorance has organized around what it refuses to acknowledge and we are tired of idiot savants and their sycophants. But what can be done ? I have stood among protestors since I was 13 years old. I attended occupy capital , and occupy Wallstreet. I was in Baltimore is 2015 when the city mourned the loss of Freddie Grey, and I was in Denver Colorado when it mourned the loss of Elijah McClain. But I am not with the protestors today. Because today we are not in protest. Today we are at war. I've seen first hand as the violence escalated, each time law enforcement arriving with more intimidating weapons, and each time more willing to use them.
