Happy Monday Dear Readers! A new week for reading many different topics! Please feel free to share what you are #currentlyreading. It can be any format like a book or a website, a subreddit or a twitter thread! It would be nice if you can also give a description but captions are not required. As for me, I've been reading a lot of articles to prepare for an upcoming family trip. #currentlyreading the latest Japan Travel Tips for Autumn πŸ’™ https://www.reddit.com/r/JapanTravelTips/

Hey, Sunny... I've been doing a bit of driving lately (in my tiny Japanese electric kei-van) and have been relistening to "Zero History" by William Gibson... it's intrigue focused on the cutting edge of fashion, technology, surveillance culture, music and money - written in 2010, it's an interesting study in what the world looked like at that time, and from some very particular perspectives!

Wow that's interesting to read for sure! and from 2010! Did any of the projections happen already or did some tech also get phased out since then? Are you based in Japan? from which region? Since I'm prepping the luggage, I'm also reading a lot about the expected weather and outfit choices for the next 3 weeks πŸ˜… I hope your Monday has been good to you! πŸ‘ 30 $degen

I lived in Japan (just south of Tokyo) from 2004-2008... one of my favorite countries! A bit unusual for Gibson, he was writing "in the period" - it's early iPhones and MacBook Airs - bugged phones, surveillance drones, but this novel is set mostly in Europe (at least to this point) and is less "predictive" than some of his other, (better, IMO) works such as "The Peripheral"- back to Japan - @pichi might be a good person to ask, and I know @betashop.eth was gathering info, too! Where are you planning to visit? And is this your first trip there?
