After all these years my wife finally got me to open my mind to modern country music lol. Still kinda picky, mostly only like the banger rock-esque ones. But for real is there a single song where they don't mention their truck? ๐คฃ https://media.tenor.com/_jKUQqeRIFAAAAAC/cars-disney

ROFLMAO @ that Truck thing LOL!!! ๐ Since it's a bit older it isn't modern country music but i'm a huge fan of Francis/Frank Black the singer from the Pixies who did a gazillion of (brilliant) solo albums and one of them was completely country which he recorded in Nashville, and features notable local session musicians, such as Steve Cropper and ex-Presley guitarist Reggie Young which i really liked a lot...it also has 3 cover songs...: "Song of the Shrimp," "Sunday Sunny Mill Valley Groove Day" (by Doug Sahm) and "Dark End of the Street". Black said that, for the cover of "Song of the Shrimp," he took his cue from the version by Townes Van Zandt, adding that he had never heard Elvis Presley's version. Maybe it's something for you too...i did copy the youtube vid to start with the song the album is named after...but maybe just start from the beginning...my favorites besides that one are "Selkie Bride", "Burn Today" and My "Life is in Storage"...: https://youtu.be/CqdsuLG-92c?t=1813
