This morning while browsing X, I noticed some new tokens trending — one of them was MechaHitler, which had trading volume reaching up to $10 million! However, that token only existed on Solana and Ethereum (ERC-20). I couldn’t find any solid version of it on the Base network.

In my opinion, we should also be actively involved in creating trends on Base. Sometimes it’s not just about profit — the real value lies in spreading the name of our network (@base ) across all platforms. That visibility alone can bring long-term benefits.

We’ve seen many successful token launches, even with zero cost — Clanker is the simplest example of that. So we shouldn’t let trends pass us by.

One of the issues we’re currently facing is Clanker’s sensitivity to certain words. In my opinion, this limitation reduces its overall potential and power.

A network like ours should promote freedom — allowing users of all backgrounds, preferences, and mindsets to create token names as they wish, even if the names aren’t to everyone’s taste. Right now, we’re struggling to create a token named MechaHitler, which is not intended as a reference to violence — it’s simply a name that has recently trended.

Even if there are references some may find controversial, that alone shouldn’t trigger restrictions from the bot. Open systems thrive on freedom of expression, and limiting this could hold us back from tapping into viral trends. @clanker make limitations for launch token with this name
