Still a big believer in channels. Don’t think they need to be dropped, just changed up a bit. Perhaps incentivized onboarding for specific people to run a channel? We already did that to some extent for journalists, what if we did the same thing but the person being onboarded would be tasked with posting lots of content for that subject? Tell them up front there won’t be much engagement to start, convince them it’s worth it or pay them directly, etc. If they’re well known in those communities would make it even more desirable; bring the existing followers with them with invites.

I say this as some channels are legit topics, but just dead from lack of interest. Not enough content, not enough people for said subject. The just need a boost until enough people are constantly posting, eg /dev, /screens, etc

I'm still a big believer in channels too, and I like your suggestion of incentivized onboarding. I've been hoping to revive /slowcore-hq one day and take up regular casting there once again, pending some sort of decision from Merkle about the future of channels one way or the other.
