Slack is turning on global model training on your data on Thursday. You can opt out, of course! But it'll require sending an email with no SLO on when it'll be honored

yup. it took me a while to find despite all the upsells for "AI coming soon!" Finding the opt-out instructions is a simple 5 step process: 1. Find the "Updates to feature availability and pricing for Slack plans" in the Slack client 2. Scroll down to "Manager AI feature access" 3. Find the note for "AI features may leverage generative AI. Slack does not train generative AI models on Customer Data. To learn more, review our Privacy Principles" 4. Clickthrough to Privacy Principles to find that in fact Slack DOES train models on Customer Data, unless you opt-out Side note: they appear to be splitting hairs on whether their "global" models are "generative". I would argue their global models would still qualify as generative, even if they are not foundational. Maybe @garyweinstein or @schugani could give us a lesson on whether this kind of language can get companies in trouble 5. Scroll halfway down the page to find the non-hyperlinked email address for opting out https://slack.com/trust/data-management/privacy-principles
