Does recasting do anything?

Yes! It exposes the cast to all of your followers home feed algorithm.

Also liking and replying to a cast will make it more likely to appear in home feeds as well.

Would you consider treating recasts as first class citizens the way Twitter, tumblr, and similar sites do? If even for a week long experiment?

The current implementation seems circumstantial at best and the gray wording makes it seem like the likes are doing all the signal boosting.
