the funny thing about this image is that the cube colors are not consistent so it's actually impossible for it to be solved like this

I'm no cuber so I never remember which is the original, impossible version! But after 30 seconds of searching I believe this is the corrected one made by a fan

oh cool, yes this one looks consistent! 

(though in a standard cube the colors wouldn't be arranged like this, blue-green and yellow-white centers would be on opposite sides. but that doesn't matter too much)

I should have mentioned that my trusted sources at Reddit claim this is a Japanese variant of the cube!
