The initial users of bluesky were essentially tech people interested in decentralized tech 

That culture got completely wiped out by bluesky pandering to Twitter refugees at every opportunity

Very smart of @dwr.eth and @v not to have jumped on that bandwagon when it could have been easy bumps for protocol metrics

That does beg the question of how to grow a network without eroding the culture that makes it special – this is a solvable problem. 

Reddit is proof: it’s able to house and preserve the widest diversity of content on the internet

I don’t feel like this is quite true. There was a handful of very early users that set a particular tone and BS leadership capitulated to all their requests, basically let them have the keys
