First class video support is a must have for any social app today. You can see that in the convergence on short videos in every large social app today

I suspect it’s because text-centric apps don’t facilitate as much virality as video-centric ones? Text does serve communities better though e.g. Reddit/facebook

I don’t think video content is dumbed down. Feels like there’s more to the equation

I have a hunch that video is more monetisable so the medium attracts more entertaining creators and hence attracts more users

yeah tbh I'm actually excited about it too, its just been a long time coming (lots of great artists and creators churned due to lack of posting video due to feature flags)

hopefully they come back!
