approve + transfer batched into one transaction is still the best UX if the wallet supports 5792 imo, which should become the standard fairly soon (sendTransaction is even being deprecated by wagmi)

ok! v2 is going to remove tge need for every double tx with permit2 and parameters for claiming refunds to a different address than it was donated with
