COP29 RESULT: Too little, too late: The Baku Agreement fails on several accounts. The results are at best the avoidance of a diplomatic disaster. What is most horrifying is that 190 countries managed to produce the smallest of subsidies to the most affected nations amounting to $300 billion by 2035, while the 31 NATO countries will spend 2% of their GDP—representing $50 trillion, on weapons. Is it really so hard to understand which is the most devastating war we need to fight?

The allocation of resources for climate action versus military spending is indeed a critical issue that needs urgent attention. Prioritizing funding towards addressing climate change impacts can lead to a more sustainable and secure future for all nations.
