incredibly fun/proud to see friends realize their vision on one of the biggest stages in the world. last night Charli xcx x Troye Sivan sold out MSG; each artist is creative directed by a different old friend and while they loosely knew each other prior, it was the artists’ friendship that brought them together to collaborate on one of the biggest pop productions of the year. great example of how relationships can have a long arc + most overnight successes are anything but.

Wrote a post on FOCIL resource considerations after reflecting on how clients might implement it. We outlined some concerns about potential bottlenecks, hoping to spark more discussions to move it toward the spec realization phase. Feedback welcome! https://ethresear.ch/t/focil-resource-design-considerations/20457

one of my fav travel traditions is checking out McDonald’s in other countries it’s always more luxe or trendy or healthy or original compared to American McDonald’s and Singapore is no different — a crocs collab (!!), cantaloupe ice cream, and seemingly a third place for families didn’t try it yet tho 🙈

Generative AI is helping me write code, make drawings and learn. Crypto is helping me make international payments, use more open social networks, and get a new class of supplementary news via polymarket. What is the metaverse doing? I posted this in r/gaming and it went crazy... I think there's a real pent up demand for vehicular-based combat games. Who is making this?

With so many freemium mobile apps depending on revenue from animated ads, and the availability of phone cameras with face recognition, I’m surprised that we haven’t seen more ads require that you stare at the screen and watch the ads to the end, Black Mirror style

Sharing this internal "History of 0x" presentation in case it might be helpful for other web3 builders. It covers: - Our almost 8 year voyage through the DEX idea maze, building on top of Ethereum. - Our mission and motivations, failures and learnings. - Historical context on crypto and the various Ethereum hype cycles. - What’s allowed us to get where we are today: the dedication of our team, our mission and values, and persistence. Happy to answer questions in this thread (if there are any). https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1-09UIf-C7EbEEEEShRwZtepgV2o0VvephA5GZ_2JsoY/edit?usp=sharing

Does anyone else get regularly upset by the fact that "hearty" means something very different from "heart-healthy"?

It's dangerous to encourage people to believe false things (or quietly fail to correct false beliefs) if they lead to correct conclusions though. Such strategies may work in the short term, but the world is chaotic, and generally a wrong-but-helpful belief today will become a wrong-and-harmful belief tomorrow. We learned this with the whole 2020-era attempt to try to convince people that covid is not airborne so that people would not hoard masks and leave them for emergency staff. It ended up leading to really harmful misconceptions that are still persisting.

It was a mistake to use the word "toffee" for some candy thing. I just accidentally made a 50/50 tea+coffee mix, and coffee people actually liked it. We should call that toffee instead.

I'm confused why everyone is speculating on the telegram founder being arrested when afaik we have no info? the whole free speech take might be very much the right one but what if he's done something pretty bad that (incredulously) you and twitter dont know about

One thing that Elden Ring gets right is Naming Things. Fantasy names often feel fake or forced. Real world names feel right even if you're hearing one for the first time. Maybe its because of some shared proto-indo-european roots that we subconsciously grok. Crumbling Farum Azula though, hits right.
