For 3 hours last night, @livecaster was driving over 10% of protocol casts.

That's right. 10% of hourly casting was done from a mini app. 
Talking about sports on a Sunday evening.
In realtime.
With tips via protocol crypto rails.
And sports predictions in chat via an agent.

Rewards didn't love it haha. Which is fine, just interesting that all that engagement didn't move the needle on global rewards.

Why don't we count replies in the rewards score?

1. Inbound replies do count, i.e. you cast a banger and a bunch of people reply. That's engagement. The rewards algo rewards engagement across inbound replies, likes, recasts, quote casts.

2. Replying to other people does not currently count. A few practical reasons: the average top-level cast gets way more engagement than the average reply (which usually gets engagement from the original cast author). There are exceptions, of course—especially if the reply is funny, i.e. a ratio.

3. We can consider adding replies, but even if we do that—and get more aggressive at surfacing replies in home feeds, top-level casting is still going to be the best way to get the most aggregate engagement.

4. Worth point out: there have been a few metas on Farcaster that rewarded replies. And then people complained about too many replies.

It's known that replies to replies (and perhaps reactions to replies?) don't move the need on your rewards. 

The Livecaster host usually gets a nice bump from all the engagement on their top level cast. But my sense is it plateaus after a bit.
