Step outside and realize I forgot what it’s like to walk in the rain without rushing. When you drive, rain is just an obstacle. But when you walk, it becomes part of the journey. Drops drumming on the umbrella, puddles reflecting neon signs, the city looks like a noir film.
Arrive at work wet but satisfied. Colleagues look at me like I’m crazy: “Why not take a taxi?” And I think — when else will I have a reason to feel the city like this? Sometimes breakdowns teach us to live differently.
