Hot take: point systems are great for the industry - Allows users to transparently know their usage and possible airdrop allocations - Allows protocols to tweak point systems and perfect the model before officially launching tokens which is a one-time event De-risks token launch

If teams use it right, they can taper off the points totals through multiple rounds and minimize the decline in TVL/usage once the inevitable airdrop is finished.
