Restaurants should save 1 reservation every night for an auction with a clearing price. Purely a reservation spot—you pay the normal bill. If doesn’t clear, give to waitlist. Split the upside with ownership and tips for staff.

sounds interesting, but what if nobody bids on the reservation? might end up creating more hassle than it’s worth.
