Well, arguably the Quakers in North Carolina could be one, although it depends exactly how you define a startup colony/society. But they got kicked out of everywhere at various points in the English Civil War, including Massachusetts and Virginia so they headed out near the Great Dismal Swamp. Supposedly had great relations w the people already in the area. But they were still part of the overall English colonization of the Atlantic coast of Middle North America which had a lot of violence associated w it.
