It’s honestly absurd that Napoli scored just 59 goals last season and still won the league. That’s fewer than Milan, who finished eighth. I looked into how many title-winning teams in major European leagues have scored as few goals and still taken home the trophy. Turns out — only three: • Lyon in 2004/05 – 56 goals • PSG in 1993/94 – 54 goals • Valencia in 2001/02 – 51 goals (classic Rafa Benítez tactics) That’s it. No other champion has scored fewer goals than Conte’s Napoli. And it wasn’t about poor finishing — they simply didn’t create many chances. Predictable, uninspired football, totally lacking in spark. De Bruyne will fix that. He’s a master of creating something from nothing. Add a potential link-up with Lukaku and maybe Núñez, and this will be a completely different Napoli. If Conte manages to maintain the system’s balance while integrating De Bruyne, the team will pick up even more points — now that’s true title-winning form.
