Does anyone around here play or have played any board game of the Warhammer universe? It is the board game that I enjoy the most every time I have the opportunity to play it. Being able to play with the miniatures assembled and painted by you is something special.

i started playing 40k at the tail end of 9th edition and have since pivoted into pretty much full-time 30k. for 40k I play Grey Knights, 30k is Luna Wolves (loyalist SoH). agreed re: playing with your own built & painted minis, it's top tier

Of course, playing with your miniatures painted by you is the best :D How is WH 30k Horus Heresy? do the rules change a lot?

that's probably the best thing about 30k, rules don't happen in "edition" cycles like 40k. the rules are generally static, and if you stopped today and returned in 5 years, there's a good chance your old rulebook is still valid. pretty steep learning curve, though. it's based off of 7th edition rules, but modernized

feels old school for sure. 10th is very optimized. we refer to 30k games as “crunchy”
