Seeing a lot of comparisons between sentencing for SBF (25 years) and Ross Ulbrecht (life w/o parole). Curious about this channel's thoughts on the matter. My potentially hot take is in the comments.

Wasn’t it also motivated somewhat by the charge that Ross tried to hire a hitman? Whether or not you believe he did, that would certainly impact the sentence.

I don't think that was included in the charges, but you have to believe the judge was aware of that evidence when issuing the sentence

Ah got it. I seem to recall that was wrapped up in the FBI sting.

Yeah, I haven't looked at the facts in a while, but I think there were some incriminating emails that were located as his trial was wrapping up. Just in time for the judge to throw the book at him
