why do i need to restart farcaster to get the new version?

i don’t see that warning with other ios apps

basically if you are updating the app once in awhile or it is a low risk app it's fine to go through apple but in their case they'd rather take the hit for speed

They use Expo “over the air updates,” lets them update without needing to go through App Store which is a much slower process

we ship OTA updates very frequently, often multiple times a day. it's a faster cadence than many other apps.

your app will load the latest OTA update on startup, but since users often have the app open for a long time, we show a message so you can update immediately.
