I'm a huge cast iron proponent. I cook a lot, love my food. Cast iron literally lasts for hundreds of years, if it does degrade you just get a little more iron in your diet. When used properly it has very effective non stick properties. Heats up evenly and holds its heat well. I also really love la Chamba clay pots

Lets say we go down this path. It works! We're deflecting more heat, and otherwise things continue on..more emissions more cars more petroleum. What next? How long before we're back in the same position again and we have to do it again? And again? Are we just punting the problem further and further down the road?

You can use whichever terms suit you, perhaps it is more palatable to say that we are extracting more from the natural world than we are giving back, and the level of bounty we have come to expect won't last under those conditions.

I definitely eat helix aspersa snails from my garden. Keeps them in check and they're way more expensive at the French restaurant in town

Raised beds from last year. Spinache, lettuces, orach, tatsoi, lambs quarter. After my tomato starts were ready I chopped areas out of those beds and plopped them in!
