That’s not what “token gating” means, you’re redefining the term. Token gating is directly in reference to needing to own a token to use an app or service. This is a defined feature.

Yeah but you have to buy or get sent clanker to own clanker. Having the token is gated by your ownership of it.

“Token gating” means you have to buy and hold a token in your wallet to access an app 

You don’t have to own clanker to launch a clanker, that would be token gating.
