Black VCs don’t really support black builders like they’re supposed to

I have so many thoughts here. 

1. So many black vcs are behind the 8 ball due to lack of true funding they have behind their firms 

2. Many of these cos have very strict or what they call “sure thing” (practical) investments because they do have enough capital to deploy to “experiments”  

3. The amount of due diligence that takes place for black founders is astounding. I often felt like I was being interrogated like I was applying for a loan. Hardly a fun experience. 

4. I truly believe they want to fund us more and more but even for them it’s hard when a lot of black fledgling entrepreneurs don’t have their stuff together—many VCs don’t have patience because they are trying to build more of point 1
