Why I Love Farcaster, take #487 Look at this long thread full of people cheering @sinusoidalsnail on after this purchase she made with Warpcast rewards and tips. Quintessential Farcaster wholesomeness. It's motivating and uplifting on so many levels to see this. ❤️

❤️😭 Love this whole story and that thread so much. It's infectious in a pay-it-forward kind of way. Seems meaningful that the funds for the purchase were received through your active participation here, and that you chose to use the funds in the way you did. Creativity thrives when it's valued, received, supported, and witnessed by the community. Inspires me to think about how I, too, might use my Warpcast rewards + tips to further my creative work, and what else might be done to help normalize sharing stories like this on the purple app.

Thank you, yes. It is indeed very meaningful to me. I have some lifelong hangups about pursuing my own interests, doing things that are just for me, buying things for myself, etc. And I’ve only recently started to work on changing this. Without the people I have met on here, I would never in a million years have thought that I could make art. And without the rewards and tips, I would never have bought myself this. It’s so nice that there are still communities online that are so positive and supportive and kind. I had thought they were gone forever, until I joined here

I wholeheartedly agree about the rarity of the kindness and support we see on the purple app, which is one reason I wanted to amplify it with this quote-cast. :) I've been online since 1993, and Farcaster is the only place I've found that genuinely holds a similar sense of promise as those heady early days of the web. Creativity (as in "practicing an art or craft") might seem like it's "just" for you, and in a sense that's true... yet at the same time, if you do it in earnest and keep at it over time, I bet you'll soon find that the very same work that feels most personal can also be of service to others. Feels amazing (yet also vulnerable!) when that happens. Enjoy the journey!!
