As much as I don't like Iran as Ukrainian citizen for providing Russia Shahed drones I think there was no reason for the strike, it clearly works only in the interest of Israel, which started the war it can't win, Iran called out the bluff "Iran won't retaliate because of US"

"no reason for the strike" You have to zoom out to make sense of why these moves make logical sense to the people making them. I agree with you at the core, but I also make room to zoom out and look at why this would make sense to Trump and Netanyahu. This isn't about tit-for-tat, although most people will interpret it this way. There's a long game here to shift global dynamics.

I'm not going to claim to know what he is thinking or why he's doing this but it fits in trend his total authoritarian style of leadership, so it reinforces his disregard for the social contracts determined by the legal structures. It also makes a statement on the global field that he doesn't care about those rules either. Maybe he's calling a bluff. Maybe he's pulling a distraction stunt. I can't really make sense of the geopolitics beyond that, but I don't think he just randomly decided to bomb Iran and I certainly don't think he's over there with the sole purpose of trying to clean up isreals mess. Again, I don't agree with his actions, and I think he often reveals himself to be not fully aware of the consequences of his actions. How would you interpret this maneuver on a longer timescale?
