1. Get some $TAO First of all you need to get some TAO you can get it on Binance, Coinbase, Mexc, Kucoin, etc (check coinmarketcap for the full list). 2. Create your wallet Download a wallet, I recommend @subwalletapp (https://subwallet.app), it actually works well with a Ledger (but no Ledger support on mobile). Create your address (make sure to secure your 12 words seed) or connect your Ledger (you need to be on the polkadot app)

On subwallet scroll down to find $TAO, click on it then click on get address, copy the address (it should look similar to the one I just created for this guide: 5FNM8wgNuajbRZUnapbZjRrRJzMrAKvK3Mrxje5Mhjb3MPEN)

3. Withdraw $TAO Go back on the exchange and withdraw the $TAO you bought, make sure the network you select is TAO/Bittensor and go through the withdrawal process.

Let’s do it on taostats, head to the website (above) click on the dashboard button top right then stake, sign in with any method you like, then connect your wallet (make sure to ✅ the wallet you want to connect on subwallet). Then on the Stake page, click the subnet dropdown and add any subnet you want to invest in as well as its validator.

Here I selected Root (the default staking, i.e.: not exposed to alpha tokens) Chutes and Gradients. In the main bar you set up how much of your total $TAO you want to stake (NEVER PUT 100% as you will always need gas for operations)

Then you click next to review and confirm. Finish by signing the operation, and wait till it's confirmed, don't worry it's fast. ps: I finally didn't keep root for my example

Alternatively you can go on the subnet page to buy some alpha tokens of that specific subnet: Click on subnet, select one of them then buy or sell (click on the gear / settings icons to change the validator)
