Wait, the working class in Socialism aren't exploited?!? or are they better off because they have no hope of changing their fate anyway?

Socialism is led by the working class, so no.

Vietnam, Laos, China, USSR, Cuba, Burkina Faso Quality of life metrics are higher than that of the USA in most cases. The working class were all pulled out of abject poverty and/or fascist oppression. "They talk about the failure of socialism but where is the success of capitalism in Africa, Asia and Latin America?"

I don’t think pure capitalism or pure socialism is the answer. A mixture of ideals well balanced and suited to our needs is a better option. I wouldn’t call USSR or China ideal nations, but we all have terrible history as well.

Nothing is "ideal". 50% of Americans cannot afford rent for a 1 bedroom apartment. People are being bankrupt by medical bills and college loans.

But to say "fuck socialism" and "the working class are exploited in socialism" is very ignorant.

Ignoring the atrocities that have happened under communist regimes is arrogant. I prefer to be an American. You do you.

Myth: Communism Killed 100 Million+ People Debunked: Death tolls often include WWII casualties, famines, and natural disasters, misattributed to communism. Capitalist atrocities (Native American genocide, transatlantic slavery) dwarf these numbers. Sources like the "Black Book of Communism" are ideologically biased and widely discredited.

Myth: Communists Oppose Human Rights Debunked: Western human rights discourse selectively targets socialist states (e.g., Venezuela) while ignoring abuses at home (mass incarceration, migrant detention). Socialist states prioritize universal healthcare, housing, and educationβ€”rights denied under capitalism.

Myth: Communism Equals Dictatorship Debunked: Socialist leaders (Mao, Castro) relied on mass support, unlike capitalist dictatorships. Capitalist democracies are dictatorships of the wealthy, masking oppression through electoral illusions. The "dictatorship of the proletariat" refers to working-class control (complete opposite of a dictatorship often criticized), opposing bourgeois dominance.

My personal living decisions have no bearing on whether Socialism objectively is better for more people than Capitalism. I'll stay and fight for the working class that is suffering under Capitalism, thanks. I helped a Union Strike just yesterday, what have you done lately?

I’ve run my own business for over 25 years doing honest work to support my family, workers, and clients. I’ve taught my children to save and invest early in stocks and crypto and how to manage their money. We all do what we feel is right for those around us.

Now your replies make sense. You are a petty bourgeoisie. Are your workers unionized? Is it a coop? Do they own a share in profits or decisions making? If not, you are not exploited, you are the exploiter. According to Marxist theory, petty bourgeoisie will eventually end up in the proletariat class due to the inability to compete with monopoly capitalism. You are still subject to the whims of the actual bourgeoisie and oligarchs. You are closer to being homeless than being a billionaire.

There is a wide gap between homeless and billionaire. I have no desire to be a billionaire. According to Marxist theory where do you fall on this curve?

I do not own a business or factory or real estate to make me money off the labor of others. I have to sell my own labor for a wage/salary. I am part of the exploited class. I work in a dictatorship of the bourgeoisie. I have no say at my job. I have no access to the surplus profits of my labor.

That is your choice, and most people make that same choice. I understand and respect working for others for a wage. I did not make that same choice. I chose a much riskier path and that has made all the difference. Every economy makes money off labor and I believe that labor should be fairly compensated and laws should be in place to protect labor. I just don't believe that most private business should be own by the Gov. The Gov has it's place as a watch dog but not a market maker.
