Wait, the working class in Socialism aren't exploited?!? or are they better off because they have no hope of changing their fate anyway?

Socialism is led by the working class, so no.

Vietnam, Laos, China, USSR, Cuba, Burkina Faso Quality of life metrics are higher than that of the USA in most cases. The working class were all pulled out of abject poverty and/or fascist oppression. "They talk about the failure of socialism but where is the success of capitalism in Africa, Asia and Latin America?"

I don’t think pure capitalism or pure socialism is the answer. A mixture of ideals well balanced and suited to our needs is a better option. I wouldn’t call USSR or China ideal nations, but we all have terrible history as well.

Nothing is "ideal". 50% of Americans cannot afford rent for a 1 bedroom apartment. People are being bankrupt by medical bills and college loans.

But to say "fuck socialism" and "the working class are exploited in socialism" is very ignorant.

Freedom has many difficulties and democracy is not perfect, but we have never had to put a wall up to keep our people in.

Ignoring the atrocities that have happened under communist regimes is arrogant. I prefer to be an American. You do you.

Myth: Communism Killed 100 Million+ People Debunked: Death tolls often include WWII casualties, famines, and natural disasters, misattributed to communism. Capitalist atrocities (Native American genocide, transatlantic slavery) dwarf these numbers. Sources like the "Black Book of Communism" are ideologically biased and widely discredited.

Myth: Communists Oppose Human Rights Debunked: Western human rights discourse selectively targets socialist states (e.g., Venezuela) while ignoring abuses at home (mass incarceration, migrant detention). Socialist states prioritize universal healthcare, housing, and educationβ€”rights denied under capitalism.

My take: both China and the U.S. have unacceptable numbers of people living under modern day slavery. https://www.walkfree.org/global-slavery-index/map/#mode=map:country=CHN:region=1:map=prevalence:year=2023:view=recommendations https://www.walkfree.org/global-slavery-index/map/#mode=map:country=USA:region=3:map=prevalence:year=2023:view=recommendations

Considering the never-ending declassified CIA documents of coups, assassinations, color-revolutions, anti-communist propaganda, sino-phobia, dictatorships, political meddling, etc ... I'm extremely dubious of Western portrayal of anything about China. Nobody is saying any country is a utopia and without issues, but I find it hard to swallow a lot of the exaggerated claims by the US and the Western media

The fact is, China has pulled hundreds of millions out of abject poverty and has led the country to near parity with the US in basically 25-30 years (88% poverty to 0.7% according to the world bank). 90% home ownership rate, 97% literacy rate, etc ... Standards well above the US.

On the back of providing goods for the capitalist of the world via cheap labor, currency manipulation and a closed market from the rest of the world. It’s because they are capitalist that they were able to do this.
