Shopify has integrated “Pay with Base” as a default payment option — regular web2 merchants can now easily accept USDC!

I get that is good for Coinbase, but how is that good for everyone else?

If there are more ways to spend and receive USDC, more people will start to regularly use it, and some of those people will dip their toes into other areas of crypto. 

E.g. if a user is familiar with USDC and the Base app, they’re more likely to flip over to the social tab and maybe spend their USDC in a miniapp.

Yeah this is all consumption though. Doesn’t actually benefit anyone. I feel great for the VCs though

It benefits plenty of folks.

More web3-aware users with crypto available to spend means more volume and revenue for developers of web3 apps and miniapps, and it means bigger and better network effects, which improves the experience and economics for farcaster users and crypto generally
