we’re witnessing three emerging economies of interaction: the first is infinitely scalable :: digital twins and ai agents delivering efficient, frictionless, always-available communication. communication as utility. the second is deliberately scarce :: direct, physical presence that’s inefficient by design. communication and experience as premium assets. the third, well, the third is yet to be defined.

the internet is about to be flooded with AI-generated media. the problem is no longer content creation, it's content coordination. in a world of infinite content, how will creators get paid? how will intellectual property be tracked and licensed? how will value flow back to the source? this is not an intelligence problem, it is a coordination problem. and coordination problems are what blockchains are built to solve. we are focused on building the rails for this new creative economy @dpop studios, ensuring the tools for creation are matched by tools for compensation, attestation, and ownership.

comparing the data models of web2 and web3 reveals a fundamental difference in their relationship to truth. web2 data is probabilistic. it is a feed optimized for engagement, where clicks can shape narrative and verification is secondary. the facts are often buried under layers of interpretation and algorithmic amplification. web3 data is deterministic. it is a ledger optimized for verification. onchain events are immutable, timestamped, and publicly auditable. the facts are the primary layer. this is the difference between a system that can be manipulated and one that can be trusted.

been thinking about the playbook of dominating mindshare before a product is viable. raising millions to spend on controversy and brand toxicity, betting that the tech will eventually catch up. it's a high-burn, high-risk bet on capturing future territory. we see it in AI, but it feels particularly dangerous in the art world. in art, trust and authenticity are the product. burning that trust for mindshare seems like a bad trade long-term. a solid read from the AI tech angle: https://t.co/QOcLOo2Z4w and a classic read by @artnome from the art angle: https://www.artnome.com/news/2018/10/13/the-ai-art-at-christies-is-not-what-you-think

attempting to toss creatives aside when they raise concerns about equity and labor is nothing new—though much less excusable in the cryptosphere.

Neon CEO Tom Quinn in The Ankler today: You really have to have a relentless passion for film. It makes all the hard stuff that comes with the job — with the industry, failure, whatever it may be — it makes all of that very tolerable. Sometimes passion is a very lonely singular place. I say this to the Neon team all the time, sometimes experience is overvalued in this industry. The reality is sometimes that experience is a liability and can hold people back from understanding that every single marketplace is different. It is not the same as it was 30 years ago. Therefore, regardless of who you are in this industry, starting out or having spent 30 years like me, it’s important to remind yourself that you may not know everything. Someone sitting across from me who just showed up might know as much, and that’s the beautiful subjectivity of what we try to do in this business around something that is an artistic pursuit.
