Gen X: The Most Underrated Generation in the Room 💯 While Boomers run the boardroom and Millennials run the internet, Gen X is just… quietly getting things done. No hashtags. No fuss. Just facts. Let’s talk about the lost middle child of generations. 👇 Born between 1965 and 1980, Gen X was the first generation to: Grow up with computers and cassette tapes Survive latchkey childhoods Inhale cynicism through Nirvana, grunge, and MTV news Basically: analog childhoods, digital adulthoods. Gen X is the original side hustle crew. Before "hustle culture" had a hashtag, Gen Xers were flipping zines, working at record stores, coding at midnight, and fixing their own dial-up connections. They made DIY cool — out of necessity. They embraced tech before it was cool. The first bloggers? Gen X. The first gamers? Gen X. The first people to be ghosted online? Also Gen X. 💀 They watched the internet get born, broken, and rebooted.

They don't overshare and that’s power. While other generations posted their every move, Gen X kept it private. Now, they’re the least likely to get doxxed or go viral for something dumb. Call it quiet survivalism. In leadership, Gen X is pragmatic. Not idealistic like Millennials. Not hierarchical like Boomers. They’ve seen both, and prefer results over rhetoric. Flat orgs, chill vibes, and just tell me what works. Pop culture? They wrote the playbook. From The Matrix to Fight Club, Simpsons to South Park, Gen X brought sarcasm, skepticism, and style. They made the antihero cool before it was a Netflix trope. Gen X isn’t loud, but they last. They don’t want trophies. They want stability. They’re the glue in your company, the adults in the room, the reason your IT department still works. If Gen X were a font, they’d be Courier. If they were a drink, it’s black coffee at 6am. If they were a meme, it’s “This is fine.” 🔥 Respect the original survivors of the analog-to-digital shift!!

Well said. Generation Xers don’t take ourselves too seriously. We care less about labels and more about the big picture. - Mark (since 1974)
