In the market for a new keyboard! Browsing around is giving me choice paralysis so I’m looking for recommendations.

Musts:
- dedicated backtick / tilde key

Likes:
- compact layout
- media keys (on layer)
- topre / topre-like aka thocky switches
- home / end keys

Dislikes:
- RGB
- having to replace batteries

I wound up buying a gently used Quick Fire Rapid-I (above) to harvest the USB controller to fix my beloved NovaTouch (below).

I got the idea from digging deep in old Reddit threads of someone thinking to do this.

After rearranging the pins to match the NovaTouch, I’m ecstatic to report that it works! 🥹
