They aren’t. It’s “private” as in the only people who know are: you, the person you pay, Apple, your bank or card company that you used to make the payment, and any government who asks.

Idk. This was just an ad I saw on Reddit, and what I remember from using it once. I think they’re comparing to Venmo where stuff is public in like a social feed.
